We felt welcomed and received great service when dining here in December. The steak was great, but beware that each cut is unique and subject to availability. We found that there wasn't much choice left since it had been some time since the last replenishment. If you're concerned about this, inquire before dining.

Restaurant is quite casual although prices are very high. Every thing is very clean and in good taste, Japanese style. Rise, salads and side dishes are excellent, but hey, we came here to eat Cobe. The waiter showing and offering different pieces of Cobe beef. Most of them quite small and not suitable for normal western dinner, up to 200 gs. Also not all different portions are available. Every gram costs... In the end if you want to eat a good steak, with out hearing your hart beating and fill pain in your pocket, this is not the place to go.I enjoyed but it was not outstanding as I've expected.

The service was amazing, and the food was extremely memorable. Very hard to get a reservations as a tourist. But if you can, it's worth it.
Tried the short ribs and the ribeye & felt that the ribeye was better. Felt that the steaks were a bit overly seasoned.

Do stop by Steak House Pound Shijokawaramachi for their excellent Tenderloin steak made from Kagoshima Wagyu. We had ours done to medium-rare and boy was it amazing- perfectly done on the inside and nicely charred on the outside. Also, pleasantly surprised by the sweet and sparkling sake by Mio. Such a refreshing way to end a long day of sightseeing.

Excellent Kobe sirloin, top class service!
I happened to see this wonderful place when I just came out of the Kawaramachi Station. It turns out this is a smart decision to go eating there. The dry-aging beef definitely worth a try. It tastes pretty amazing. Desert and soup are also top-class. If you are at Kyoto, do not miss this place.
I was craving a steak, and this restaurant was just block from my hotel, so I decided to give it a try. I had a delicious, aged, flank steak cooked perfectly, french fries, and a ceasar salad. I couldn’t be more satisfied. I really liked the wasabi on the side of the steak, and the carrots in the salad were cut in the shape of cows: cute! The staff was very nice, too. A good steak for the price!

Staff was excellent and the meal was the best steak we have had in a long time. If you are in Kyoto and want the best Wagyu, come here

Very good food and service. Prices are reasonable, but Kobe beef was simply too expensive, but I guess it is even more expensive in other restaurants. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars are the premises, they were a bit simple and boring (by my taste), no windows.
Decent steak house, with good quality meat. It's a little hard to pick out what cut you want though, because the English menu isn't that clear. We had some fries and a filet and the cook was great - well prepared to our wishes and tasted great.The reason I only award 3 stars is that the kitchen seems really poorly organized. We also ordered a salat, and after they delivered the meat and fries, the waiter came out and apologized for the salat being delayed. But why then serve the steak first? The salat is a starter dish; nobody wants to eat salat after their main course. So we canceled the salat. This delay was weird because it was only us and one other couple in the restaurant, and they had already finished. What could possibly delay anything? The chef wouldn't have anything but our order to do.Also, the interior decor seemed not that cozy. They need to dim the lights and put some wine glasses on the tables
this wagyu restaurant was really good! staff spoke little english but they had smart pads that had different language options so anyone could read the menu. this place sells kobe beef AND kagoshima blackbeef. kobe is well-known abroad but is not the tastiest wagyu in japan. kagoshima blackbeef has been winning awards lately as well as miyazaki beef, so i highly recommend the blackbeef option. also ordered bruschetta, veggies, and dessert.
Very average experience. I would say for Japan this is definitely below expectations. I live in Japan and felt this place is for tourists. If you are just visiting Japan I would advise to look for a real teppanyaki restaurant. For the price you pay you can have much more both in quality of meat, atmosphere and service.

Really good place to try various beef as part of the 4000 yen banquet deal PP. Food was delicious. Note it is 4 people minimum for said banquet option, regular menu options available for less.

First time trying Kobe beef and was definitely satisfied. The service was impeccable and so was the wine selection, arguably my favourite restaurant in Kyoto
Had a wonderful experience here. The waiter, Kado, extremely friendly and attentive. We had the dry aged sirloin and chuck, it was very flavourful and aromatic, especially the sirloin which melts in your mouth. I'd definitely recommend this place for it's delicious dry aged steak, romantic atmosphere, and wonderful service!
We had black beef steak, quite nice beef, I enjoyed the meal a lot! Although Japanese beef are reaaaaaaaly expensive, but worth a try!
Steak was great. The steak sauce is some of the best I've ever had. Reminds me of the famous Peter Luger sauce out of Brooklyn, NY. Also salad was great.
